tell me! I struggle with it all the time I am using, abusing, wondering what the hell all this is about and I have come to the conclusion that I have fallen into the trap – inwardly kicking and screaming – desperate for the days of telephone conversations, writing letters (on paper with a pen – remember those days?), licking that stamp and sticking it on an envelope and then, with such a feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment, slipping the missive into a big red pillar box (or at the very least, a red oblong built into the post office wall!), secure in the knowledge that it would land on the door mat of someone who’s dear to you in a few days time (or maybe a week, knowing the Royal Mail!).
So, I freely admit, I’m a mass of hypocrisy and contradictions when it comes to cyber space as a medium of communication, learning and pure old entertainment value (hey, where else can one download – let alone find – The Young Ones ‘Bad News Tour’ for free?!!). However, my heart is in the right place (however ‘old-school’ that place may seem) when I doth protest (too much) about it…….but, I hope that the balance never tips too far over into the ether-world. I give you permission to kick my a** if it ever does!!
